Our Orchard

Our orchard incorporates permaculture design and is slowly growing towards becoming a diversity of perennial fruits and flowers. We have planted many edibles including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, pears, peaches, plums, cherries, pawpaw’s and much more! The orchard isn't currently open as it's young and not yet producing. It's also sort of an experiment at this time as we see what cultivars do well and which don't in this environment without the crutches of toxic pesticides, fungicides, and the like. We don't believe we need to coddle and poison our fruit to have it. We do anticipate the possibility of needing to spray some cultivars with harmless applications of things like Kaolin clay or neem oil to compete with bugs but we also wish to discover cultivars resistant to these problems in the first place. We're currently using beneficial nematodes to help control wood borers and utilizing mycorrhiza fungi to establish beneficial root / soil relationships for the trees. We anticipate Apples and Asian Pears of significant quantity coming into production in a few years.

Wish us luck. Please check back for updates from time to time if the orchard interests you.
